This short story packs a punch! The author wastes no time getting to the meat of the story. This story is about an underappreciated mother who is reduced to the title of dog walker. She has an old dog that her husband got her years before. She takes the aging dog for a walk, but something unexpected happened. Three stray dogs attack her and her dog. She manages to get her and her dog to safety at the last possible moment.Be careful where you walk! You never know when stray dogs are lurking around the corner! I highly recommend this short story to fans of horror and suspense.

I am a doglover and was thrilled she finally learned to appreciate him in his old age when he needed her most. I'm also an empty nester!
A short story more than a book but with a clear and well deserved message.
There is enough detail to make the background understood and for the reader to become emotionally involved. for some, especially animal sensitives, there are graphic descriptions, but stay strong and get to the end . You will be rewarded.
This story will grip your heart. I know what it is like to be part of a dog attack, and how scary and powerless I felt, and I was barely out of my teens at the time. Ms. Thornton has beautifully crafted her story of an indomitable human spirit despite feelings of hopelessness and isolation.
She is an author I will look forward to exploring.
This is an interesting and well written short story. I felt for the old lady and her circumstances and I think many people would be able to relate to her and her situation. The event that transpired and which is the focus of the story serves to show how a person can be forced to dig deep for the courage to face her fear and also help another in a similar position. I thought it was a little sad that such a thing had to occur in order for the old lady to change her perspectives. This is a nice quick read that makes you think about things afterwards.
