Loved this story. S.P. Wilcox is one of my new favorite authors. This story just kind of takes off and I didn't want to put it down.
Sydney was hurt by a high school romance that went wrong and had not been real keen to jump into anything else. Grant was the guy that never really seemed to develop any attachments, but when these two come together there are sparks that are hard to deny.
I could not put this one down. There is so much that sucks you in and doesn't want to let you go. The characters are developed in a way that you can relate to them, you can understand their pain and feel their triumphs. I mean seriously who didn't wish for that summer beach romance? S.P. Wilcox does an amazing job of reeling you in and honestly I didn't want to be set free. Loved this one and recommend immediately reading the follow-up. You won't be disappointed.

Wishful Thinking Wishes #1 edition by SP Wilcox Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is one of those books that I am so glad I didn't' judge the first half of the story on the whole of the story.

I am going to be honest, it was a little rough for the first few chapters. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. The writing was different than what I have been reading lately and I wasn't sure I was going to love the main character all that much, she was immature in every sense of the word. But, I kept reading and I am glad that I did because after that first initial rough patch, I really started to enjoy the story more and warming up to Sydney.

I do have to put a warning in though, this was way steamer than I thought it was going to be, so, if that isn't your thing, this might not be the read for you. The sexual tension between Grant (who really is a great yummy character) and Sydney was pretty intense and their relationship, even more so.

This was a great love story. One of those filled with ups and downs and lots of drama (thankfully no love triangle). It is about trust issues, mistakes, heartache, and all those wonderful feelings that come with first (adult) love.

I felt by the time the book had ended that I really became invested in Grant and Sydney's relationship and I was rooting for them the whole time. It drew me in and I was able to overlook some of the little things that bothered me (some of the drama and angst that comes with stories like these) and really focus on the story.

In fact, I became so involved that I didn't want it to be over yet. I wanted to know how it would all turn out and I was glad that I had the next book so I could start it right away and find out.

This is definitely something that I would recommend to anyone that loves a good love story that involves all the highs and lows that come with being a teenager in love.
I have not read a book since before my kids were born. I read this in about 3 days could not put it down. I was completely sucked into their relationship and kept going wanting to know so badly what happened next. Looking for number 2. Hopefully Soon )
I hadn't taken the time to sit and read in a long time. I started this book Sunday night and by 11am on Monday I was done. Couldn't put it down, I was hooked. SP Wilcox draws you in at the very beginning and keeps you in all the way thru. Anxious for the next book!
I finished this book in 1 day! Could not put it down )

Great character development and a sexy story line about summer love and every girl's fantasy. I would love to see this on the big screen one day, it would make for a great movie!

As the first novel by SP Wilcox it grabs your attention and you can't wait to see what happens next! Eagerly anticipating book #2 to see what is in store for these characters you grow to love.
I really enjoyed this book. If you liked beautiful disaster you will like this book. I am looking forward to a second book and hope it comes out soon! I will be reading this again though!
I really wanted to like this book since someone compared it to my all time fave Beautiful Disaster but there's just something off about the writing style. I kept noticing how off the sentences and scenes feel. The dialogue just didn't flow. A perfect example is "it was 9 pm, the fireworks would be starting soon, I love fireworks "Grant, when is your birthday" ". That is a quote from the book. Do those phrases go together in any way? no! yet that is the entire paragraph. And there were things like "I will be off soon" I will this and I will that. It sounded almost formal. it doesn't feel like it's written in a way people actually speak. It sounds more natural to say I'll be home soon, I'll be there.

The way scenes are written is just poor. We decided to go to the club, we danced. We went home and I was tired. That's pretty much the writing in the book. I'm really having a hard time believing all 6 other reviews are 5 stars. Some parts are just so bad. There's a scene where she visits Grant at his job. All she does is walk up with her friends and somehow her being so hot embarrasses him??? First of all, they just walk up, they as in 3 girls. How does the customer know that any of them are his girlfriend, it's a retail position, they could be customers. and secondly what guy is going to be embarrassed because someone said he's a lucky guy?

The love scenes aren't very good either. They're pretty quick (some being just a few lines). It seems like she uses all the "proper" dirty words and activities but they're not described in a way where they feel all that hot or special at all.

Spoilers...

The conflicts were really ridiculous. He's mad because someone "overheard" her talking and turned it around so he just gives her the silent treatment? doesn't confront her or anything. and by the way, are we going to find out what was supposedly said? if it's causing a major fight shouldn't we get to know? maybe i missed it...

Also, the story of the ex. He drops that big of a bomb, they are interrupted and she doesn't let him finish his story for DAYS! really? come on...you're really not curious as to whether or not he has a kid out there? you'll just let him explain when it comes up again.

He goes crazy because she's busy with rush, just like she warned him she would be. She's busy for a day so he starts texting that he knows she's with someone else. That's pretty unstable if you ask me.

Overall this book wasn't good.
